Re: Level Creation Megathread
Well, Random, you broke my designer's block. I followed your suggestion to think about what the player should do in the level. About 5 hours of design time later, I finished testing it. [The Electric Shocktopus-"756C"-eNrtVUsSgyAMvQvrLAwYrWfpuO0F2h3Tu5fyaRCxqNhFZ3wJIPDA8ADVgBUGNqkWFqHIZAS...

Re: Level Creation Megathread
Thanks for the comments. Did you play both versions? The only difference between them is the very end- where you jump up to land at the door. In the easy version, it's tricky, but not really hard after a couple tries. In the hard version, it takes a lot of luck, because you have to align yourself a...

Re: STL -- a space game
I'm thinking that the best option would be a switch to 'Seen' view (include aberration, I KNOW I hate it too). Otherwise you'd run into the issue of, essentially, prescience ( ). What's with the issue of Here's a simple way to view the issue of future seeing (ignore all the sign errors in the ...

Re: Rocket/Space Game (Was "Rigid body rotations")
Hopefully those FPS problems are just from something simple like FindObjectOfType() style functions inside one of the Update()s. Or some other bit of code that could be run once but instead is being run every frame. Maybe keyboard/UI code that could be consolidated to one script so that a key press...

Re: Andy is everywhere
Where on earth has Andy gone?? He has not been online since May 24, and has not made a post since May 15. As a result, two weeks have gone by without a FBF. I'm started to get worried, even though logic says that Andy is very likely just fine. Ha -- excellent question. I'm a-okay -- if a bit sleep ...

About that Juggling challenge
(this one) So you know how that had the strong force been 2% stronger, helium-2 would have been a lot more stable ? Yeah, physical laws are annoying sometimes. [The Electric Shocktopus-"Jumping Over"-eNqr1hn+wNhwcLvPxBjhVBMcagwpgEBjDXRGAV5AQfhWVyuVKOlExwJRtVKaEpgqBlLGRsY6ZqZA4dHQJRz8hqa0t...

Re: Rocket/Space Game (Was "Rigid body rotations")
After thinking about the project for several months (and realizing that somehow I lost more than a day's worth of code), I decided one day only Unity would allow me to make the game without having to recode everything from scratch (physics, rendering, etc). You know, don't reinvent the wheel? On my ...
