Tip: To use the Telescope, right-click on the pulsar and select zoom in several times. Drag to adjust viewing angle.
Heh, how about pulsars in GSim? :P
$1 = 100¢ = (10¢)^2 = ($0.10)^2 = $0.01 = 1¢ [1]
Always check your units or you will have no money!

That's an incredible hack! Just goes to show, when you've made a complex, rich simulation -- people will push its bounds in creative ways you couldn't possible imagine. I added your tip to the main pulsar page, so everyone can benefit from it.

Doesn't work for me. Neither the arrow keys nor the mouse do anything. Here's what I see.
Edit: I'm an idiot. The controls work now, and apparently the pulsar's supposed to be the size of an asteroid. We all have times when our brains go on strike...and after a 13.5-hour drive, mine's tired of working.

Ooooh, that looks good. It's like I'm standing outside, looking up at a *real* pulsar. Nice screenshot, Neal!

If you're having trouble, you can activate Random's suggested "Telescope Mode" :)

Haha, thanks! I was just trying to get a screenshot with the dot visible. Glad the screenshot turned out so awesomely.

You had me worried for a moment that there was a bug in the simulator.

Wouldn't surprise me too much. In 500k lines of code, there's bound to be an error somewhere. ;)

Half a million lines of code for a 100x100 square?!? Whoa.

I don't believe you. You couldn't have coded 500K lines of code. Right?
Nobody ever notices my signature. ):

Well, I needed to simulate the fluid dynamics of the pulsar, as well as the path the light took through various dust clouds to reach your eyes. ;)
