Great gift! Of course, there are plenty of things for me to suggest, but you have the suggestions thread for that! I'm sure you'll implement the features I want over time. Also, you might want to include a link to the 'beta' in the 'alpha' version.

I was realizing, after going back to the original, how quickly this version is catching up/surpassing it. May as well put a link up there. And if I reach a nice stopping point, without any bugs, I might even just replace it sometime soon.
