Blast from the past, but loaded up IRC for the first time in many, many years.
(Back in my day, it only had two colors - green and darker green! Well, okay, maybe not *quite* so long ago...)
Following wtg's suggestion -- let's use irc://efnet/testtubegames. I'll try to remember to lurk on there, and we'll see if it's something people are interested in using. Would be particularly good for semi-scheduled events, I'd imagine "meet at 'x'-pm to discuss how 'y' should work in the gravity sim."
How about an IRC channel?

Re: How about an IRC channel?
How would I go on about to join this? It says I need a program. I did some searching but didn't find any that seemed free or good enough. Any suggestions?

Re: How about an IRC channel?
I use firefox, and there's a nice plugin you can get for IRC (chatzilla).
Not sure about much beyond that -- apparently mIRC still exists, and that's what I used so very many years ago. No idea what it's like nowadays.

Re: How about an IRC channel?
I actually do have mIRC it seems, but I cannot use it. I must've used it a few years ago or something, and basically I need to pay for it.testtubegames wrote:I use firefox, and there's a nice plugin you can get for IRC (chatzilla).

Well, darn shame.
Either way, I'll be getting chatzilla. Thanks for the recommendation.
Also, firefox for the win.
EDIT: Yep, chatzilla works. So easy to install, too! One button click, firefox restart and bam. Suddenly I click a link and I'm in the IRC.
EDIT2: I'll be in the IRC until I go, probably. If I don't respond, I'm probably doing something in the background. Either way, if any of you wants to join, I'm looking forward to seeing you there!

Re: How about an IRC channel?
Try using Mibbit! (If you absolutely desire to NOT install anything)
It's a neat IRC client you can use in your browser.
I don't use it unless I'm on my laptop. On my desktop, I usually use mIRC.
I'll be on in the afternoons of weekdays.

Is it supposed to be blank? (It still is).
Nobody ever notices my signature. ):

Me, Andy, wtg and ARP are all in here. Are you sure you're using the most recent link?exfret wrote:Is it supposed to be blank? (It still is).

What chat client are you using?exfret wrote:Is it supposed to be blank? (It still is).
If you're going directly to irc://irc.esper.net/testtubegames, via your web-browser, it won't load anything as there is no HTML to display.
You need to use an IRC client. Refer to the OP for some

Wanna know what mIRC is like now?
SPOILER
SPOILER_SHOW

It has it's own programming language, so you can make scripts, is very user friendly, and EXTREMELY configurable! Also... pretty complex too.
